The Road To Justice Starts Here

Being charged with a crime in Florida is stressful and frightening; being convicted can have lasting repercussions, from imprisonment and fines to reputational harm. When your freedom and future are on the line, Allstarr Legal, P.A. will be by your side. We have a proven ability to handle the most challenging criminal cases, including assault and battery, juvenile offenses, DUI, sex crimes, and homicide.

Assault & Battery

There are several classifications of assault and battery ranging from simple assault to aggravated battery which can be charged as misdemeanors or felonies depending on factors such as the extent of the victim’s injuries and whether the defendant acted with intent. Either way, our firm is well-prepared to defend you against assault and battery charges.

Under Florida law, assault and battery are two distinct offenses:

  • Assault involves an intentional, unlawful threat by word or an act to do violence to another person
  • Battery occurs when a person intentionally touches, strikes, or causes bodily harm to another person
Homicide/ Murder

If you are facing any type of homicide charges, Allstarr Legal, P.A. will vigorously defend you. Homicide involves actions that result in the death of another person, which can be classified as manslaughter or murder:

  • Manslaughter is defined as the killing of another person without lawful justification and the premeditation required for murder. It can be further categorized as either voluntary or involuntary, where voluntary involves killing in the heat of passion, and involuntary involves unintentional killing due to negligence or recklessness.
  • Murder is the unlawful killing of another person with intent, which can be expressed or implied. It is categorized into different degrees, with first-degree murder involving premeditated intent to kill, and second-degree murder involving a depraved disregard for human life but without premeditation.
DUI Defense

In Florida, DUI means driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08 or higher or while your normal faculties are impaired. You can also be charged with DUI even if your BAC is lower than the legal limit based on police observations about your conduct or appearance (e.g. slurred speech, red eyes).

Also, the state has an “implied consent law.” Under this law, anyone issued a driver’s license agrees to submit to a chemical test of their BAC (e.g. breathalyzer) if stopped by police for suspicion of DUI. If you refuse to submit to testing, your license may be automatically suspended.

But being arrested for DUI doesn’t mean you will automatically be convicted if you have an experienced Florida DUI defense lawyer. Whether you are facing misdemeanor or felony DUI charges in Orlando, trust Allstarr Legal, P.A., to protect your rights and driving privileges.

Juvenile Defense

If your child has been accused of a crime, you are likely angry and disappointed but also concerned –  minors in the juvenile system face an uncertain future. We are here to be your child’s voice. Our team has extensive experience handling all types of juvenile offenses, including:

  • Underage drinking
  • Driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Traffic offenses
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Disrupting School Assembly
  • Vandalism
  • Trespassing
  • Petit theft  and other theft-related offenses
  • Assault and battery
  • Burglary
  • Robbery
  • Arson

Unlike criminal cases in which defendants are found guilty or not guilty, juvenile offenses can lead to a finding of delinquency. If your child is found delinquent, the judge may impose either probation or commitment to the juvenile system. You can rely on our capable and compassionate juvenile attorney to get your child a second chance.
